netflix unbreakable kimmy schmidtI don’t know about you, but I love me a good Netflix Original. I feel like they have more room for creativity and they end up putting out some great content with some amazing talent. This week, I’m talking about Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. If you’ve seen it, you know the intro song alone is unforgettable.

You know those shows where you have a favorite character? This isn’t one of them. If you liked Ellie Kemper as Erin in The Office, her role as Kimmy Schmidt will not disappoint. She is, as always, quirky, adorable, funny, charming and extremely talented. And her friend/roommate, Titus Andromedon played by Tituss Burgess, is nothing short of amazing. His character is so refreshing and honest and his chemistry with Ellie is unreal. They are hilarious together and I’ve laughed out loud quite a few times during the two seasons that are currently on Netflix.

And let’s not forget about Carol Kane who plays Lillian and Jane Krakowski who plays Jacqueline, both of whom are spectacular. Lillian is Kimmy and Titus’ landlord and while she may be a bit loopy, she cares so much about them both. And Jacqueline is needy and clingy, but funny and loving at the same time. They are both vital and play off of Kimmy and Titus wonderfully.

I think what I like most about Kimmy Schmidt Unbreakable is the storyline and modern jokes used throughout the show. It’s take on young adulthood is relatable and it reminds us not to take everything so seriously. They touch upon jokes I’ve heard growing up, jokes I’ve heard recently, and everything in-between. My dad is actually the one who recommended this Netflix Original to me. It was an excellent recommendation and I felt as though I should spread the laughs. If you have a Netflix account and a half hour to spare, I suggest you give this a watch!
