EASY APPLE CRISP RECIPE

apple crisp recipe

When it gets chilly out, I always start to think about apple crisp. It’s such a cozy treat & so easy to make! I like it fresh out of the oven with a scoop of ice cream on top, let it melt just a little. I know everyone is already onto Christmas (can’t say I haven’t been planning blogmas already) but November is still an apple crisp sorta month. SO here’s an easy & delicious APPLE CRISP RECIPE!

HOMEMADE APPLE CRISP

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 6 cups apples (peeled & sliced)
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp. water
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened

PREHEAT the oven to 375° & put apples in an ungreased 2-quart dish. Sprinkle cinnamon, water & lemon juice on top. Then mix the rest of the ingredients together in a bowl until you have a crumble! I think the hardest part of this recipe might be peeling the apples & that’s only hard for me, lol.

SPRINKLE the crumb mixture over the apples & throw it in the oven for 25-35 minutes, till the apples are tender (but not mushy) & the topping is golden brown. The pic on the left is before it went into the oven & on the right served it with a scoop of ice cream on top. YOU CAN also serve it with whipped cream on top.

p.s. My mum actually had all of the ingredients laid out when I got to my parents’ house, she’s so artsy & cute. We had so much fun making apple crisp together!
