I don’t know, I like a festive cocktail, ya know? If a classic moscow mule is good, a cranberry moscow mule has got to be better. Such a festive drink in a really cute mug & so easy to make. Perfect if you’re having friends over during the holidays. My friend Val gave me these copper mugs, ideal for moscow mules. If you like cranberry & ginger, this is the drink for you!
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- CRANBERRY SIMPLE SYRUP
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 1/2 cups fresh cranberries
- THE DRINK
- 1 1/2 oz. vodka
- 1 oz. cranberry simple syrup
- 4 oz. ginger beer
- lime wedges
- I squeezed a lime wedge into the drink & used another for garnish
I started with the cranberry simple syrup first so I could put it in the fridge for a few hours before using it. This was so easy! Just put the sugar, water & cranberries in a medium saucepan on medium high heat. Simmer it for a bit, stirring to melt the sugar & once the berries pop open, you can take it off the heat! Wait for it to cool & strain it so you have just the liquid left, that’s your cranberry simple syrup.

And here’s the drink! I’m sipping it as I write this & it’s absolutely delicious. The simple syrup adds a bit of sweetness, which goes perfectly with the ginger. I could see this cocktail being great for a holiday party, or having a couple friends over. I love that the cranberry simple syrup gives the drink a red tint, so appropriate for the season! I suggest making the simple syrup in advance, apparently it can last up to a month in the fridge. It’s quite a simple cocktail to make & tastes like you put much more effort into it than you actually did, which is my type of drink. 🙌🏻
