How to De-Stress During the Holidays (Blogmas Day 4)

It can be really fun being festive & busy, but it can also be really fucking stressful. There’s a lotta stuff to do, gifts to find & holiday parties to attend. If I get overwhelmed for whatever reason, I like to set aside some time (however short) to de-stress. Especially during the ho-ho-holidays.

  • Wear something familiar
    • Add a familiar element to your outfit (favorite shoes, scarf, or a necklace) to help you stay grounded. Sometimes I get overwhelmed at a crowded holiday party & it makes me feel better if I’m loving my outfit, or have my favorite rings to fidget with.
  • Have a drink!
    • If ya old enough, a drink can relax you a bit. If you’re cooking a big meal, pour yourself a glass of wine to sip while cooking. Or add some baileys to your hot cocoa after a long, cold day. Or, make cranberry moscow mules for you & your family/friends!
  • Step outside
    • If you’re at a crowded party & get stressed, step outside for a moment to enjoy a breath of fresh air. A few deep breaths of crisp, wintery air never hurt anyone.
  • Pamper yourself
    • Lounge around in comfy clothes (or a ridiculous onesie) & binge watch Netflix. Wondering what to watch? Check out my Netflix Original reviews! Whether you have four hours, or one hour to spare, it’s nice to get snuggly & watch a movie or series you’ve been loving. Personally, I live off awful, amazing, cheesy Hallmark movies in December.
