Baked Chex Mix Recipe (Blogmas Day 10)

baked chex mix recipe

I made this yesterday during the snow storm, so it was the perfect time to be by the stove (for 3 hours) to make this treat. Perfect to bring to a party, put in tins to hand out to friends & family, or to snack on during movie night! A baked chex mix recipe.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Cheerios
  • Wheat Chex
  • Rice Chex
  • Corn Chex
  • Cashews
  • Peanuts
  • Pretzel Sticks (I used Snaps)
  • 1 lb. butter 🙈
  • 3 Tbsp. Worcester Sauce
  • 2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 tsp. seasoned salt

Grab a roasting pan, I used one of those disposable ones. After a quick phone call with my mum in which I asked her how she would melt a lb. of butter, I melted it in a sauce pan! I then added the worcester sauce, garlic salt & Lawry’s seasoned salt & set it aside. Then I added all the cereal, nuts & pretzels to the pan and poured the butter mixture on top. I mixed it all up & threw it in the oven at 250° for three hours, stirring every 15 minutes (I used a rubber spatula). It was perfect for today as it was snowy & I was doing things around the house, but definitely a stay-by-the-kitchen type of recipe.

After 3 hours of stirring every 15 minutes I spread it out all over the counter on paper towels to cool. Eat as much as you’d like (we had some fresh out the oven, so good 🙌🏻) & store in an airtight container so it stays fresh. I could even see adding some green & red M&M’s once it cooled to make it more festive. I feel like chex mix is one of those recipes where kinda anything goes. ENJOY!
