OKAY so when I heard about thredUP I was intrigued. It’s an online thrift store where you can buy and sell gently used clothes. SO I sent in a buncha clothes & stuff, they bought some from me to sell on the site & donated the rest. You can also have them send back the clothes they don’t accept, but I chose the donate option. I heard about this online thrifting / consignment store & just HAD to give it a try for myself! Here are my thoughts for anyone who’s heard about thredUP and gone ‘hm, wonder if that’s any good?’ A review of my experience SELLING CLOTHES ON THREDUP.

WHAT I SENT IN:
- 4 dresses
- 3 cardigans
- 3 t-shirts
- 3 tank tops
- 3 long sleeves
- 2 velour zip-ups
- 2 pairs of jeans
- 1 button-up shirt
- 1 pair of shorts
- 1 purse (or tote)
WHAT THEY ACCEPTED:
- 4 dresses
- 2 cardigans
- 2 tank tops
- 2 long sleeves
- 1 velour zip-up
- 1 t-shirt
- 1 pair of jeans
- 1 purse (or tote)

So I sent in 23 items and thredUP accepted 14 of them. OF THE total 14 items they accepted, only the jeans, a dress, and velour zip-up have sold so far. And as of right now, $20 is what I’ve made. 5 of the items were accepted on consignment, which basically means you get a percentage of the sale depending on how fast it sells & for what price. The other stuff they pay you a certain amount depending on what they think they can sell it for.

Honestly, this online thrift store kinda seems better for the buyer than for the seller. It’s a really cool concept, but it might not really be worth it if you’re actually trying to earn some extra cash.
HOWEVER, If you’re planning on donating anyways, this is a great way to earn a few extra dollars at the same time. It’s cool that you can thrift online & donate used clothing, etc. on the same website. ALSO, you can use your earnings to look through thredUP & get some new-to-you fashion!

I love thredup, but the selling aspect isn’t too friendly. You’d do better selling on Poshmark or Vinted. I recently saw that they are piecing together a marketplace (?). I think that may make a HUGE difference!
