IF HOCUS POCUS WAS FILMED TODAY

HOCUS POCUS is such a classic 90’s Halloween movie. The cast is perfect, the fashion couldn’t be better. The whole thing just has the most nostalgic feel. I’VE HEARD there’s some sort of made-for-TV sequel or remake happening & I’m not sure how I feel about that to be honest. I feel like it kinda just won’t be the same without the original Sanderson Sisters. BUT it’s still kinda fun to think about what might be different IF HOCUS POCUS WAS FILMED TODAY.

HOW WOULD MODERN-DAY HOCUS POCUS BE DIFFERENT?

THACKERY WOULD CALL THE POLICE

• IT TOOK such a long time for the dad to get there with his torch-and-pitchfork-wielding mob. NOWADAYS you might still run after your sister & you’d let your dad know what was going on, but you’d also give the police a call if your sister went running off with some lady.

SANDERSON HOUSE WOULDN’T BE SHUT DOWN

• IN THE MOVIE Allison mentions that the Sanderson house-turned-museum was shut down because a lot of spooky things happened there. NOWADAYS you’d probably sell MORE tickets to your haunted museum.

THE SISTERS WOULD BE EVEN MORE CONFUSED ABOUT TECHNOLOGY

• I MEAN imagine them trying to figure out a cell phone? If they thought a bus was crazy, they would be in for a pretty big surprise.

SAY GOODBYE TO ALL THOSE VIRGINITY JOKES

• THE AMOUNT of jokes about this kid’s virginity is honestly a bit absurd. NOWADAYS it’s not something people super joke about & it wasn’t even that funny. I don’t know.

THE SANDERSON SISTERS WOULD BREW UP THE NEXT BIG SERUM

• BREWING up some youth serum to go along with their life potion. They could sell it, or more likely just keep it all to themselves, but they would definitely be crafting their own serums to add to their skincare routines.
